Dream a little dream

I sometimes have very odd and vivid dreams. I blame my dreams for my waking up late because I need to find out what happens.

For instance, this morning before I woke up, I dreamt that I was a half-alien running away from her real father when he came to invade planet Earth.

Weird, right?

The story goes that I was raised by by human parents, with the only fully human sibling my youngest brother. So one day, my real father, this gorilla-looking alien, decides to invade.

Everyone, naturally is scared, but since he was very powerful, planet Earth decided to allow him to take over (hmm, must be a time in the future when USA is no longer in power)

Then respectful fear turned into sycophantism, which disgusted me, because it began to feel like people were being blinded to what he could really do. Even my own sister was the first to greet him enthusiastically - which felt like a betrayal of our family, especially of our adoptive father, who had been present through our lives, not the alien overlord.

So I ran away in anger, furious at what had become of the world. Everywhere I went, I saw people eager and excited at what they thought was the bright new future, but I saw what was really happening, what he was doing, and how he would slowly poison all the Earth and its human inhabitants. When I looked out at the darkening sky and the grey air, I felt a great sense of foreboding.

(It occurs to me now that I could have been suffering from delusional paranoia.)

In any case, they sent people after me to bring me back. They sent my best friend, and another woman to try to "convince" me to return - either by coaxing, if not coercion.

Unfortunately, it worked, and they brought me to where he was temporarily residing.

But before I met him, I woke up.

So I *still* don't know what happens in the end.
