So, I was surfing for videos about bullying for my counseling class and I turned up this video - and the song has stuck in my head. It's not the crux of my post, BUT nonetheless, worth a watch.
After sampling the rest of their songs, I can't say I'm impressed with their repertoire, least of all the singing. But I think I've made it known to many that I believe rock seems to involve singers who can't sing, so I shouldn't complain, eh? It's a combination of whining and shouting. Shouty whining. Does that determine punk rock? In fact... I kinda like the music until the singer starts... uhm... screaming.
Well, I suppose they're not too bad. The songs I found not too objectionable were "River Below" (Favourite New Single of 2004, Casby Awards), "Standing in the rain", "This is how it goes" (until the screamy parts). Of course, sometimes it takes a few repeats for me to like a song.
Check out the lyrics too. The lyrics for "The Ex" made me laugh. They are, as L might put it, "Well funny." (Though he probably wouldn't say that. I would. Except I rarely say something is "well funny". Oh, you get what I mean.)
