I must confess this that I have denied for a very long time.
I have a secret attraction for soft toys, especially of the furred variety. Extrapolating from my irrepressible delight over owning a stuffed orang-utan, it's safe to say I'm one of 'those girls' who likes soft toys.
Of course, the degree of unadulterated squee I have for soft toys is determined by some unfathomable definition of "cute" and the length and softness of its fur. I don't quite know yet what it is that I find cute - throw Spongebob at me and I wince - but I've been able to infer this from my collection of toys:
1) Soft toy must have limbs that are semi-flexible, i.e. they can be flailed around or moved easily, rather than extending from the body stiffly. 2) Soft toy should ideally have beady eyes - this means their eyes are not scraps of cloth or thread facsimiles. The larger the eyes the better. 3) If soft toy is the approximate size of an infant, this is perfect. However, I loathe actual toy infants. They freak me out. 4) Soft toys that are able to don clothing make me very excited indeed because I enjoy dressing my toys up. 5) Fur. Soft toy MUST have fur. But if it's too long I don't want it. I don't particularly like shaggy fur.
I can't explain the fascination or the love I have for these soft toys on my bed, but I just do.
