Family Computer

Suddenly had a moment of nostalgia - looking through the functions of my Acer, I remembered what it had been like for me every time my father brought home a new computer. That feeling of excitement as I explored the program files - amazing new things that I had never seen before, the CD wallet that unfolded with all the free software given with the purchase of the computer. Hours of entertainment for everyone! ^TM

All the games! It was where I discovered my love for Sierra - King's Quest, Space Quest, and of course, Lode Runner.

Do they do this any more with new computers? It seems not - virus protection is all they'll offer these days. Sadly too, have I lost my childlike excitement for new toys.
