That's not to say, of course, that I don't wish it was. I'd be secure in the knowledge that regardless of whatever stupid hijinks I got up to in this week, by the next, it would be nothing more than a dream.
Then there's the absolute self-confidence that no matter what happened, there was a plan the writers had for me. And since I was living a sitcom, there'd be a happy ending in store for me.
The 30 minute story-arcs in which everything is resolved is good too. It does away with the unnecessary drama hanging over me for weeks and weeks. True, sitcoms do involve drama, but it's never lasted more than a couple of episodes.
You feel and see a sense of progress in a sitcom that I feel sometimes is lacking in real life.
